Saudi Arabia - Jeddah: “business” and “ILLAFTrain” lunch their monthly trips from Jeddah

This course has been distinguished by a record number of training rounds: for each trainee presented about eleven training presentation in front of a group of five referees… also it has been special with the spectacular trip which was done by the trainees on the Express Airlines… where all trainees received their own passports just before entering the airport in the first day, and the following voices started to spread all over the airport entering hall:
 

• Qatar Airlines announces the arrival of its flight number 343 that is coming from Tokyo.
• Ettihad Airways announces that all passengers on flight number 675, heading to Salalah should go to gate number 2.
• The Express airlines announces the activation of its flight number 777 heading to “wherever,” therefore all passengers must harry finishing their documents and then to head to gate number 7.
• Emirates Airways announces the delay of its flight number 242 arriving from Alexandria.
• Syrian Airlines announces the arrival of its flight number 333 arriving from Tanja.
• The last call for Saudi Airways, flight number 241 heading to Aleppo, all passengers must immediately head to gate number 9.
• Express Airlines announces its flight number 777 heading to “wherever,” all passengers should hurry finishing their documents then head to gate number 7.
• The last call for Ettihad Airways, flight number 675 heading to Salalah, therefore all passengers should immediately head to gate number 2.

When the passengers wanted to weight their luggage, the following voice appeared: “Attention please… for all passengers on the Express Airlines, flight number 777 heading to “wherever” please hurry finishing the procedures of weighting your luggage… for all passengers on flight number 777 please write your goals and wishes from this trip… and head immediately to the Sun of Learning and paste their goals on its ray… then when they passed the security barrier for stamping out, came the following voice: “Attention please, for all passengers on the Express Airlines, flight number 777 heading to “wherever,” please hurry finishing the security procedures… please head to passports inspectors… for all passengers on flight number 777 please write the obstacles facing your goals and wishes in this trip… then head immediately to the specialized security officer in order to stamp out… then to head immediately to gate number 7.

Here is some of what is done during the course when it started:

The kitchen of “Bloom, Gang, and Kolb:”

Using the accelerated learning techniques in learning “designing the training system,” the trainees played the “Paradise Restaurant” in which the trainer asked the travelers to choose terms from “designing the training system” and to present to each other the correct definitions for these terms. The steps were as following”.  
 

1. On an appropriate table, a group of paper plates written on each definitions for terms, one definition for each plate.
2. Five pieces of unreal paper-money were given to each traveler.
3. The trainer distributed the travelers into groups, and told them that each one will play the role of the “waiter.” Therefore, each one on the table will ask for one term from the “menu” and the “waiter” should write that on a card he has.
4. After that, the “waiter” goes to the kitchen (plates’ table) to bring the plates with the correct definitions on them and which goes with the customers orders. Then he should get back to the table in order to serve these plates to the one asked for it.
5. The learners decide together if the orders are right or not. If one of the orders was right, so the traveler should give the waiter a piece of paper-money. But if the order wasn’t right and doesn’t match what he ordered, so the waiter should give the customer a piece of paper-money.
6. And the game kept on till most of the travelers took their chances to play the role of the “waiter”.

The Hangings Exercise:

As an example on learning with the whole body (visual, auditory, sensual, and intellectual)…. And as an example on a strong revision technique, the trainees played the “Hangings”… in which the learners find answers to questions hanging from the ceiling, the trainer asked from the travelers to wander in order to answer a list of questions from the information contained in the hangings in the hall. The steps were as following:
 

• Before the beginning of the workshop, the hangings have been hanged (pieces of colored cartoons in various shapes that could be hanged from the ceiling) written on each one some information.
• The trainer gave the travelers a list of questions and asked them to find its answers on the hangings.
• The first trainer that finds all the answers wins.
• The answers had been reviewed as a group, and each trainer had been asked to give at least one answer.
   

Revision Race: 

The training summarized by: reading a question in order for the learners to race to the wall for getting the right answer.

• Before the beginning of the program, forty questions had been prepared for the learners. These questions cover the most of the course. The answers had been written on colored cards.
• Then the answers had been pasted on one of the hall walls, and the start point had been marked with a tape on the other side of the wall.
• The class had been divided into two teams, and they have been asked to line up in two lines behind the “start line.”
• The trainer read the questions in a loud and clear voice, and when he says: “begin,” only one learner from each team should run to the wall in order to find the right answer to read it in a loud voice, and then both players go back to their teams.
• Then comes the turn of another two players from both teams.
• The game continued till all the answers pasted on the wall are done. And each learner took at least one turn. And the team that collects a bigger number of right answers is the winner.

Learning Stations:
 
 

There are three questions stations: Apple questions station, Corn questions station, and Fish questions station. The trainees gets divided into groups, and a trainee from each group goes to get a question from each station, bringing it back to his group in order to find answers for these questions
 

The Monopoly:

This game depends on the dice and a group of stations distributed in a shape of square… these stations contains questions that vary in difficulty… the trainee stands behind the start line and throw the dice… for passing a number of stations according to the number on the dice, then stop at a question that he has to answer in order to precede… and so on till the end of the stations…

What draw the attention is the airplane hijack: as at the beginning of the last day, an organized terrorist group hijacked an airplane, where the terrorists’ leader voice started: “Khafif Al Baltagi is speaking… telling you all to stay still on their seats… we’ve hijacked the airplane… and you are all hostages… we have some requests that must be obeyed immediately or else… my boys will pass by you to give you our requests… that must be execute immediately … or else”… the captain gave the trainees requests specified to the course to be executed… and when the trainees have done amazing presentations that prove their skills perfection, the airplane has been free; then came the voice: “welcome again… this is the co-pilot… telling everyone that  the hijackers disappeared… and according to my personal information that when they saw what you presented… I don’t know what happened to them… they immediately headed to the back door of the furniture store… and they jumped for parachute landing… however: I welcome you again… onboard of the Express Airlines… and we are at a height of 40000 feet… and it’s temperate outside, and we’ve passed most of the way, and there is nothing much left… we expect reaching our destination at 4 pm… where the temperature would be fun… and the weather too… please don’t hesitate requesting anything from the crew…

Movement, movement, movement:

The activities of the course has been excellence for the frequent movement of the trainees… where they rarely sat on their seats… and any visitor to the hall could clearly see the signs of joy and energy on trainees faces.

Tug of War and Learning Summit:

The travelers played to role of two countries that share the knowledge at “Top of Learning” each team receives search materials, and then negotiate for the information that the other party has. The

procedures:

1. Before the beginning of the program, a list of questions had been written to be answered, or subjects to be discussed.
2. The class been divided into two teams. And each one told that they are a country that needs the knowledge which the other country has. And for living in the age of knowledge and small village, they should co-operate and share the knowledge with each other. But countries are sort of worried; therefore this sharing and exchanging must be full of carefulness.
3. Each team had been asked to name its country and to appoint a spokesman to talk on its behalf. And they can design their flag if there is time. (Some of the team members might like to invent funny names and nicknames for themselves and put it as an ID in front of them on the table(.
4. Each team was given a list of questions and subjects in files that written on it “special intelligence”: how to get to … (an objective of learning objectives(”.
5. One of the teams has been asked to look in the first half of the questions list and the other team to look in the second half. Both countries had a limited time to do their “intelligence”. For they could use any learning source to prepare their answers.

One of the two teams started requesting an answer for a question that the other team should look in it. And that team negotiates by giving an answer for an answer. This summit continues till all the answers were shared.

And during the last landing: came the voice: “the co-captain speaking… I and the crew greet you, and welcome you onboard at the express airlines flight number 777… I’m sure that you’ve spent a good time together… we’ll start the gradual landing now in “wherever”… please everyone tie the seatbelts… and set your seats back to its normal position… and put the bags in its appropriate places or under the seat… the crew will pass by you to insure your commitment to the safety guidelines…”

Achievement tree:

This is the real celebration… where a paper lemon cards had been distributed for the travelers to write down what they benefited from the course and how would they apply what they learnt in their practical life… how beautiful the achievement tree was when it filled with real product fruit. Especially when the travelers congregated to share their achievements and read what they’ve reached… that were moments full of intense, achievement, and stimulate… especially when the captain thanked each of them: these fruits are for every one… the fruits of their co-operation… their fun… and their back to childhood…

Special Blessing:

Trainer Khalid Al-Hussein had contributed in many training parts and the most important one his last contribution about the danger of the ego (selfishness) within the training and the importance of cooperation and its products. What should be mentioned is that trainer Al-Hussein has been accustomed with “the First level knight Insignia” and that was when he finished the required trainings and tests to get it. So, the family of ILLAFTRAIN congratulates the trainer Khalid Al- Hussein and wishes him more glory and success.
